Not sure on the charge backs, thought it depended on the particular contract, and ATT might do a tiered system based on cancel rates.  The less cancels, the higher percentage payout.

People are always going to have buyers remorse and the grass is greener on the other side for people switching from Cable to Telco TV, or vice versa, however if you sell with integrity and present everything truthfully upfront, like proration charges, what they have to do to claim money back coupons (maybe even fill it out for them, while you're waiting on the call center), explain to them terms and conditions,etc......  You will not only sell more, but have fewer cancellations. 

There is no free lunch, so make all your sales count.  And the answer to the original question is yes, if you work hard enough the money is out there in sales!  I have known a few Installers who made the switch and became very successful at the sales side.
