People need to vote. Power being concentrated to the wealthy is, IMO, the only draw back of capitalism. Our democracy prevents this type of thing by using the 1 man 1 vote theory. A rich man's vote has the same power of a poor mans.
When people don't excercise their right to vote, it weakens the effect democracy has on equalizing things between the rich and poor.
Your government does not want a nation where 1% has the wealth. The government wants as many rich people as possible to generate tax revnue. This is why we use the progressive tax. Lower wage earners pay less taxes. The government is giving us tax breaks so that we will have more money in our pockets, from which we would hopefully use to better ourselves, so that we can one day be in the top tax bracket.
