Your story is a metaphor for what has been going on!
An employer would have to provide a safe working environment for an employee. Slip on the turds or infect an open cut and the employers' insurance fixes you. I have seen phone employees refuse to take off boots to enter homes because OSHA requires them to wear steel toe boots!
So, as a contractor....you failed to fulfill a contracted task. Sight unseen you agreed to do all jobs for a fixed price. You failed to do so in a timely manner so....they just got someone else to do it. Nasty, dangerous & difficult jobs ...and the insurance to protect you are costs that have to be built into this work. While you could have charged the customer enough to make them say no......... and defended it with an explanation of lack of access...... it shouldn't be this hard.
See the difference.......no more work issued.......means a different thing for being dismissed without cause.
