General Liability & workmen Comp is two different things, all General Lib does is cover any damages that your contractor causes, worksmen comp covers any injuries of the workers working under your contract and if they are 1099 then they need to cover them self and if you cover the GL on them a 10% is needed also
if you don't want to be screwed if a man blows up a house & kills himself you need 20% of his rate to cover your ass or you will be paying for the house and his family future earnings, cover your ass
