I'll allow for a moment to believe that "the science is settled". I still have to ask, why do we need a derivatives market so that people who refuse to debate the issue publicly can make billions from it? I can't just "get in that line". Why should we let the U.N. have any say at all what goes on here? This is a sovereign nation.
I'm all for a clean earth, clean air etc. Hell I saw a river catch on fire in the 70's here at home. I grew up in the rust belt. I know a little about pollution and heavy industry and it's effects. Conserving the environment IS a part of being a "conservative". Or so I was taught anyway.
But it doesn't mean we need to be taxed for living as our current technology allows us to. Take away the potential for financial gain of a certain few,(Algore et al) and let rational scientists whose jobs aren't directly affected by their official opinions show us the truth as best they can figure. In no other way will I ever except this premise.
