Re: what is wireless from tap to tv


Where I am at we are looking at doing some upgrades and I have often wondered why there is not a hybrid coax, wifi, ip based cable system. Here we have a lot of issues with wind and storms and the drop and house wiring is our main issue. I have often thought how simple it could be to use a wifi system from tap to house. There would be a lot of variables however with the huge cost of maintaining the wired system we have now I think that it would end up saving a lot of revenue in the long run considering the huge cost of burying cable, constantly replacing aerial drops, constant ingress and egress issues, etc.

Being so far away from the real world and the way technology grows every year I have thought by now somebody would have developed and worked out all the kinks and there would be a system out there that I have just not heard of. His question did spark my interest and should anybody have more information I would love to hear more about it.
