Re: RG 6 Signal Loss.


I know guys, and have employed the tactic myself as well, that only carry rg-6 outlet wire, and only drop wire they carry is all rg-11. Saves room and gas on the vehicle, and is especially handy in a van when you want to be able to carry oodles of equipment, as well. In other words, every drop they run/lay is rg-11, and they only carry unflooded, unmessengered rg-6 for outlets and jumpers. It's something you don't see everyone doing because 11 is harder to pull pole-to-pole, and sometimes harder to pull through conduit. Meanwhile, you get a few man-points for doing it the hard way on purpose and save clutter in your vehicle. Bring a few extra converters for upsells and a few extra mta's so you're not stuck calling people at 6pm because yours were all bad.
