Reagan raised taxes 50 billion over 3 years. Nothing compared to what they are doing now. Reagan was dealing with a Democrat Congress who reneged on all their promised spending cuts. Also the dem controlled congress made deals with Reagan and then didn't keep their end up. Like Amnesty for the illegals. They said if he signed the order proposed by them that they would build a fence and then after he did they refused to keep their word. He raised taxes and created 21 million new jobs. How many do we have now that are new or saved?
