         I agree with everything you say. It is the "go for it" that is hard to plan. Since these individual installations pay so little there is no one job that a lawyer would consider pursuing. They are uncollectible, in my view, because they are all so small. But the installer still has a right to expect payment. He looks up the line of contractors towards Directv. Directv says they pay someone for results and are out of the action.
          The other issue is, having discovered such a wide spread lack of credible contractors, at some point, you have to decide to just not continue. It has become obvious that the model is to replace anyone who demands payment for work.
Fixing past losses is one thing...and hard to do. Continuing to take future losses...that is where just walking away makes sense.
          The new guy gets to discover all this.
