Often unemployed workers say that unemployment insurance is due them “because they have paid for it.” This is not true. Not one cent is deducted from your pay in South Carolina to cover unemployment insurance. Your employer pays the entire unemployment. The highest amount you can get in south carolina is 351.00 per week. For up to 21 weeks and then you can get a extension up to 16 weeks. the government takes out taxes on your unemployment check weekly or you can pay at tax time.
