Actually, I hired someone inhouse to write the code from scratch. It really worked great, as we spent a lot of time tweaking it to get just what I wanted. Also, being written in PHP, and using MySQL (both open source), there wasn't any need to purchase anything (like licensed software) in order to use it. So it was fully scalable, as well as easily customizable. I did calculate that it cost around $30k to develop.

After my contract was pulled (a company called Comcast had come to town), my now almost empty shop was broken into and all my remaining PC's were stolen, including all copies that I had of the software. By that time, so many things had gone wrong in my life, that I just let it go, and got completely out of cable for 3 years. I still haven't even come close to bouncing back, btw, but that's life.
