Those levels are high for 550.  try the first amp at 45/36  pad input to 11db 5 pad at the IS and adjust your output pad as needed.  Use manual IS EQs UG and thermals aerial and turn up to 9db and back off a hair.   This is by my experience with SA 550 gear.  this worked 4 trunk and 10 LEs deep.
