You start a business and I'll come work for you. That way I work for only two weeks, half-ass install all my jobs, cause truck rolls that you have to pay for because I'm already gone back home with a full paycheck in my pocket for every job I just half-assed installed. So as a Prime, you paid me to do the install (but I didn't do it), and now you have to pay a 2nd time to have someone else go out and do what I didn't. Not to mention that the company could lose the contract for me bringing in a bad crew to half-ass everything.
Sound fair?
That prime is not "circumventing legal proceedure". He's protecting his contract with the MSO.
Yes .... some bad apples spoiled this industry and forced the Primes into having 15page contracts. I remember when it was done with a handshake. Disputes were discussed with nothing worse than an ass whipping in the parking lot to settle it.
