Re: NBC will soon be Comcastic

With the recent working man funded bailouts of the extremely rich top executives of all these poorly run, over-sized companies, you would think this acquisition would not be allowed. But of course, the powers that be in government never learn anything, or more accurately don't care about repercussions. I'm sure lots of $$ will change hands in order to accomplish the union. IMO Comcast is already too big and too powerful.

But what do I know.

From the news link above we read in part:

"...Comcast will contribute cable channels worth over $7 billion and acquire a 51 percent stake in NBC, which means it will gain control of the USA, CNBC, MSNBC and Bravo cable channels, NBC’s broadcast networks and stations, a film studio as well as some amusement parks. On top of all that, Comcast will (sic) also pay GE $6.5 billion in cash...."

So Comcast has $6.5 BILLION in cash laying around, or at least they can put their hands on it!!!

And some people think the cable companies aren't doing well.
