In my case it is probably too late.
I answered an ad on here from DirectsatUSA......They referred me to Emarald Cabling & Satellite, Inc in Baltimore for installation work. ECS was "out of contracts" the day I arrived for an interview. Then I made an appointment to get equipment and begin work on a handshake. The contract that eventually arrived did not address what we were doing and I stopped work until paid. When no money arrived I sued the owner personally in local District Court. I won and have a judgment + interest but no collection award (didn't ask). I found a lawyer to collect the judgment but he has not been able to collect for various reasons.
My question now is: Can I collect from DirectSAT USA for failing to do what I eventually did to discover what a low level company they had referred me to? How about Directv? Their customers are sending in money each month but I am still not paid?
I had better luck with the next company...bounced checks...got paid before trial....MASTEC subcontractor.
I'd like to get the $4000.00 + interest...but am really not going to piss away any more time on satellite work.
Why do you have to prepare to sue these creeps before beginning to work for them?
Joe
