Re: What Are The Rules Of Climbing/Gaffing A Lamin

Mark Is this a Joke ? ( a rectangle wood laminated polyurethane coated power pole)  I will say It would be one expensive mistake to plant a set of gaffs in to a glue laminated pole

many years back in KCMO, a so called professional found out how expensive each laminated pole cost, he climbed like 6 before the power company seen him and He was immediately removed from the job, hell the prime almost lost its contract over it, the ones out there had eye level signs that read "DO NOT drill, staple or penetrate coating, banding attachment only", I heard the bill for the 6 poles came to about $32,000

I have built plant on a bunch of them and if you were lucky you had a free hole, if not you had to band it with corner protectors then you had to coat it with a epoxy resin that came from the mfg.. they were a pain in the ass because they paid the same as a pole frame $12 for a straight $18 for a false de,slack,45 or 90
and you had to throw away your cloths because they would stand up in the corner, and don't get the resin on your arms because you will know exactly what it feels like for a women getting a bikini wax, your arms will be as smooth as a baby's ass.

Now I don't know if that is everywhere but that was in the system I was working in.
