what the hell are you talking about?!! the center conductor is'nt being heated to the melting point!!! the thing that keeps the stinger from seating properly has nothing to do with the heat generated from softening the die-electric. its always 1 of 2 things: bad connector, or bad splicing. do you see 'heat' in there? i didnt think so.

Heating the center conductor too much will prevent it from sliding into the pin properly. New connectors, especially PPC, will not sit properly on a heated center conductor.
