VICTORVILLE, Calif. -- A Charter Cable Company employee was beaten to death with a hammer while working on the cable service at a home in Victorville, according to sheriff's officials.
Deputies received a call about some sort of altercation around 4:30 p.m. Monday in the 15200 block of San Jose Drive.
Arriving deputies found 25-year-old Trevor Neiman, of Phelan, with obvious assault injuries, officials said.
He was taken to an area hospital where he died.
Sheriff's officials say a relative visiting the home is suspected of beating Neiman with a small hammer.
Hesperia resident, Johnny Acosta, 45, flied the scene and was later arrested without incident on suspicion of murder, officials said.
No word on a motive for the attack.
Neiman survived three tours of duty in Iraq. His unit with the Marine Corps, the 3rd Battalion, 1st Marines, India Company, was the first unit to enter the city of Fallujah in 2004.
He also survived being stabbed several times, including a wound to the head, during a housewarming party in May.
Please keep his family in your prayers.
