Re: U.S. becomes top country brand

Ballsweat ... 1st off ... I'm proud of you for posting something and giving proper attribution.  You named your source!!  Great job!!

Now ... Let's learn a little bit about "FutureBrand" the company and how they generated that report.

This is taken directly from the "FutureBrand" website: (text is my comments and not from FutureBrand)

Five important things about us
We shape the future.  As our name suggests, we continuously look to establish brands that think ahead to stay ahead. With innovation and technology as core strengths, we are dedicated to delivering real solutions that stand the test of time. (They can poll a small segment and make the numbers look however you want)

We have best-in-breed disciplines.
In addition to superior talent, we maintain the highest standards in evolving and adapting practices, processes and methodologies to ensure that our teams are creating futurebrands of substance.
(They hire smart people to manipulate the numbers so you look good)

We think and act globally.
With 25 offices, we use our footprint to better collaborate and keep a pulse on the global marketplace. We coordinate trends, insights, best practices, cultural movements and business developments around the world. (They "coordinate trends" ..I.E. They help move the market in the direction YOU want.  They are not hands-off, they actively promote what YOU want)

We invest in our talent.
We hire the best, cross-train to ensure a full understanding of the branding process, create programs for employees to work in different geographies, and ensure proper training, tools and mentorships.
(We spend alot of money to maintain what we do for socialist/communist ideals)

We are socially responsible.
We are proud to be part of the Interpublic Group (IPG), a leading communications conglomerate with longstanding best practices related to corporate responsibility, the environment, compliance and community support. (Nice ... but remember, when you protect the trees, you put hard working individuals out of work)

So another way to state what they do is:

"At FutureBrands, we shape the global future to your brand and vision using tools to manipulate the marketplace by initiating trends and cultural movements so you look good."

In my opinion ... FutureBrands is a gun-for-hire marketing/PR outfit that people hire.  They gather all the information and put out reports that YOU paid for.  I'd love to know who paid for the report you posted Ballsweat.  Who paid them to do that work.  I'm willing to bet my paycheck that it was either the Obama administration or someone tied closely to it.  By "FutureBrands" own admission, they are FOR HIRE to make the data to make you look good.  Even if I'm totally wrong, you cannot get around the fact that everyone can doubt their numbers.  FutureBrands is NOT a subjective opinion company.  They openly admit that are active in "brand shaping"... They have no objectivity.  They are invested in the outcome of any given report and are biased to who is paying for the end report.

As an example of an objective brand company look no further than "Underwriter's Laboratory" ... They are the ones that test all electrical devices before they hit the market.  They test the safety of anything that uses electricity.  If it's safe, they say so and you get to put a sticker on your product.  If it's not safe, they tell you and the public so.  They are not invested in thier end reports.

Just my two-cents.
