you might look into it further. we use technet on pda's and all have tech numbers. i am certain that we dont do a charge back for a contractor but I am also sure that this is taken into consideration at yearly contract renegotiations. the pda with technet is an incredible tool for people who work "tap to the tv". i am certain that we pay quite a monthly fee for these. our minutes are fairly low but our data is unlimited, this couldnt be cheap.
i'm curious: do they only provide you with only a tech number, or do they provide you with a pda also? and do they provide you with the data (internet) access also?
you may be getting a good deal (depending on the weekly fee). just avoiding the dispatcher a few more times a day is worth a ton to alot of people.
i doubt they give you an option to avoid the tech number, since jobs are tracked in csg by tech number.
