My sons Dr a East TN Childrens Hospital told me it took 2 weeks because the test he said had to be sent to Nashville, he said the regular flu test doesn't take long so if it comes back positive they are treating it as swine flu, because the swine flu test takes so long and the symptoms are same as regular flu. So I really don't know.
