Re: Comcastic( Not)


Just wanted to clue you guy's in on what's happening in CA with Comcast. Because of the need of a dct for video and modems for voice/internet.
They are rolling out a Hot Drop program to reduce customers wait times on appointment windows and make it easier to get their service thru self install kits.

Comcast says it spends millions of $$$ on truck rolls each year. Usually to go back out to the same address to reconnect the same tap that was recently disconnected.
Most contract labor for them is installs, disconnects, and reconnects. Now that doesn't sound like a goldmine to me.. Yes there will still be custom/premium installs to do like CDV w/alarm and wireless home networking but no more reconnects or discos.

Also, they already plan for all the in house techs to do all the service calls from self install kits. If your in a Comcast system this will be coming your way.
