What the liberal media did to Rush Limbaugh this week was beyond despicable. Angered that Rush was interested in becoming part owner of the St. Louis Rams football team, CNN and MSNBC launched an aggressive smear campaign and fabricated quotes to paint him as a racist.
Claiming Rush had said “slavery had its merits,” neither “news” organization bothered to fact-check the alleged quote—but that didn’t matter. To them, this was a chance to smear and potentially destroy the golden voice of conservatism!
Almost immediately, MRC founder Brent Bozell fired off two strong public statements and personal letters to the heads of CNN and MSNBC, demanding a retraction and apology. In fact, Brent’s relentless pressure was a motivating factor in CNN’s just released public apology.
