I agree with smitty1972. The Telecoms will be around for awhile, this might happen some day but the technology is just not there for RELIABLE fast service. Besides, at some point the wireless ties in somewhere with Telecom. Hughesnet sucks so bad it isn't even worth mentioning.
BTW, where is the so called stimulus money that Obama decreed in the stimulus package. Haven't seen it trickle down to the subs performing the work yet and I'm sure we won't.
Since when is MSNBC a "heavy hitter"? They have the lowest ratings for a cable news broadcaster continuously every year. They are no way considered a "heavy hitter"...
Wireless has a play and will be an integral part of the landscape, but in no way are they capable of delivering the internet like fiber in the areas of reliability, speed and independent of a CO or Headend.
Sounds like a PR advertisement from a shareholder of "Limelight".
