Yes Dish is trying out the RSP thing again. Which had been absent for some time since the old RSP outfits had done their very bust to run bad business.
Dish is in the process of getting rid of Rocking R and Custom. Not just those but many others are on the chopping block. This is absolutely true and we have the inside track on the info. Since the huge decline in subscriptions; many dish managers were let go. They in turn blamed the contractors who blamed the subs. The perspective is to wash the industry of the current and try new blood. Now that has started a frenzy of contractors (fyi - the techs are subs - the companies are contractors) putting up money to people they trust to start a company and apply with Dish. Tom the owner of Antenna Star in PA has put a huge effort into this since they used to to about 600 jobs per day and are down to a couple of hundred. Yeah that's right; we know who you are and what you are doing. Rockin is trying the same thing right now. But there are those of us who know and are keeping dish up to speed on the connections between these new companies and the old.
I don't think that the RSP model will be long lived due to price. But Updish is attempting to take over the east coast.
