That is about where I am.
I will charge for something ez (or not) and if the customer has prepared a pull line that is on the house.
Anything beyond that becomes..."I cannot do your work today. I have another appointment right after I leave here."
I then confirm another day to return or just say it is too far to come back.
The only way I would consider sharing any fees from custom work would be as an employee where general liability insurance and workers compensation insurance is in place AND the customer has signed off on the time and materials aspect of beginning work without access to complete conditions.
If no smoke or water comes out of the hole you probably got it....but it is complicated.
