Data in a 75 ohm environment is still riding on an analog carrier. I recommend following the same fcc ruling. Data has a way of correcting its errors until it falls off what we call the cliff. Then its gone.
Stay with FCC rulings. If you ever sell or want to put analog on the netwok later, it will work or wont have to be rebuilt.
Also, consider the inherrant reliability rendered with a network sporting these regs.
