with satellite there is a 95% chance you will get ripped off. I never got ripped off from the contractors who worked for Comcast or Time Warner Cable. Mostly because in most of their systems they require the contractor to submit their payroll to guarantee they are not ripping anyone off. I have not worked a Suddenlink or any of the smaller systems. I always do quality work and never failed a QC with Time Warner or Comcast. I did fail a few for DirecTV for phone lines and no grounds on apartments (which couldn't be grounded in the first place). DirecTV is really good at telling you to do a job then charging you back cause its not completely correct.
There will also be guys on here say you can't make any money in cable, I averaged 1200 to 1800 a week and used only about a tank of gas as expenses. And I drive a quad cab 5.7L Hemi Dodge ram. You just can't be afraid to climb a pole and work hard. So yes, you can still make a decent wage in this buisness but to find the companies that won't rip you off is very difficult.
