Depending on what type of muxing technology you are using. Yes you can have intermittent RF with good light levels. If you are muxing lets say 3 rf channels onto a single fiber, the light between tx(encoder) to rx(decoder) will be fine but the RF input could drop off from typical problems like bad f-conn ect at input to MUX....
