they still gotta have an internet pipe for it though, so cable will just have to reinvent itself as well. the "a la carte" cable programming idea has been talked about and toyed with for years, and is actually in use in several major systems now. i don't think cable will go away anytime soon, BUT i do belive cable companies in general need to reevaluate there technology and expand accordingly. they've gone from basic cable (A/B systems) to digi to internet and phones (as the latest adaptation) . as long as there are choices consumers will be happy in some way shape or form. anybody remeber life before cable tv and the rest of the technologies since? we seem to forget things quickly in this era of technology, but i dont see cable being one of those "LOST" technologies" . just my $.02 worth...
