Comcast – We are in the process of researching a class action lawsuit against Comcast, which like RCN above, contracts with cable companies to have “independent contractors” do installations and repairs for Comcast at residences and businesses, even though these “independent contractors” have their work substantially controlled by Comcast and the cable companies and, therefore, under the law of Massachusetts and other states, we believe that these individuals are employees and not independent contractors and therefore are entitled to overtime pay, wages, health insurance and other benefits, as well reimbursement for other expenses they have incurred as independent contractors such as insurances.
