No Ty, there is soo much hypocrisy in this it is not funny. When a republican was in office and may of had a chance to name a successor, the old law is terrible and had to be changed. You should allow the people to decide their elected officials. Now that a dem is in the same office 4 or 5 years later the light bulb came on and they decided they were wrong the first time and it is really OK to allow the governor elect a temporary senator until the special election. And they justify it by saying the person who fills in will promise not to run in the special election. So why would the best qualified person for the job want to fill in if they can't run for the job permenantly. So the people of Mass. have to have a lackey for a senator for 5 months. This is asinine on so many levels it is disgusting. And we are all supposed to be idiots to not see this for what it is.
It is shameless partisan politics. The rule for one part should be the rule for all parties. And why is the White House sticking its nose into a purely state issue. This is the kind of practice that is why all govt's are screwed up. This just shines a spot light on it.
