Most of that stuff seems to be just repacked. I don't remember seeing evidence the case was opened ever.
I think much of the remfg stuff was taken to a job and not activated for some reason. It could even be returned eq when someone bails on their contract. If it worked once it should work again.
But what is fraudulently criminal is the practice of charging techs for service calls when the equipment fails. My last with DirectSatUSA involved a contract examination that had no mention of this practice. Later an office wonk said over the phone, "oh, by the way...we do charge you if there is a call back on your work for any reason within seven days....."
I wanted to know who the "we" was. AND ..then said....."here is the DOA box...pay me now for the service call!"
It didn't end well.
