Depends on what you want it for. If you want to take some courses to teach you about cable then yes they are worth it.
If you want to take them to get certifications then well, it is not as respected as it used to be.
I remember being able to refer back to my course books for a long time. Used them to teach a lot of techs. Matter of fact one tech liked them so much he kept them. So yea bro go for it if you can afford it. Just keep up with your courses when your done.
