Re: Where's the President?

But ask yourself this, was that war going to happen eventually if Saddam was left there and all of the money that now comes in from oil was in his hands? One day this war would have happened. And I for one would have wanted it to happen under our terms as opposed to his. I don't like any war. It generally shows that the politicians failed at their jobs. This should have been done in the first Iraq war. It wasn't and it became a problem again. Saddam himself was telling everyone that he had the weapons. Lose lose situation and the only person that could have iron clad prevented it was Saddam. He believed he could not show weakness and paid for it with his life.

In the environment of when this got started again, post 9/11, he made a grave miscalculation about our resolve. The United States was not the only one who endorsed this course of action either. But now it is done no matter how it started, it needs to be finished. I was watching the movie Charlie Wilson's War and it summed it all up at the very end, we win and get to the end and screw it all up right then.
