I was in Nome Alaska. I was my birthday. At 7 am I got a call from my wife which I thought was the beginning of my birthday greetings. But no, she was crying and saying we were under attack and I turned on the news and watched in horror as the tower fell. Since the only way to Nome is by boat (a really long trip) or plane and is 549 air miles from Anchorage, I was trapped until they lifted the ban on flying. I was pretty nervous not knowing how much more of an attack we were in for and didn't know how I was going to get to my family. I went to work anyway. I decided I was not going to let those assholes terrorize me into stopping my life.
