I actually asked a retired power dawg question about bonding guy tales across the johnny ball he told me it was due to spec. changes by the engineers. used ceramic johnny balls on tel work in Cali. never bonded to the strand or across the johnny ball, the bolt was considered continuity. except for self support (figure 8)
the linemen are slimein' but at least they're still climbin'
