Re: unprofessional appearance

the only 'backfeed' i have come accross is a humbar in the tv.. mainly older tv's and super old houses with crappy electric. Someone with a bad freezer hooked up on the same circuit. If the system is grounded and most of the electric is NOT grounded there are some appliances that will 'backfeed' if you will through the tv and the satellite with some noise to make it to the dtv ground. also i have seen where the tv is old and the tuner is not the best in it, and you will get the same sort of 'humbar' lines. In both cases i have taken a 3-10db attenuator (the same ones i have used in CATV and i have put it on the satellite receiver on the out to tv port then put my jumper to the tv. It almost ALWAYS fixes this problem and keeps the noise from the appliances out of the satellite system.
