Remember when Barack Obama replaced the American flag on the tail of his campaign jet? How about when Pepsi Cola company replaced their logo with the new logo that looks like Barack Obama’s ‘hope and change’ logo?

Pepsi issued a statement confirming the shift. Pepsi also said that Omnicom’s Arnell in New York would now handle brand identity and packaging for Pepsi, Diet Pepsi, Mountain Dew/Diet Mountain Dew and Sierra Mist/Diet Sierra Mist.

“We decided to appoint TBWA\Chiat\Day to refresh Pepsi’s communications across multiple consumer touch points and to reinvigorate Pepsi’s legacy of leading-edge advertising,” said Dave Burwick, chief marketing officer for PepsiCo North America Beverages, in a statement. “This is fully complementary with our ongoing relationship with Arnell who has created the new Pepsi identity and packaging and is responsible for the ongoing design and brand identity development.”

Remember when NASCAR was considered a ‘conservative redneck pastime’ and NASCAR supporters felt like they could find solidarity off the race track?

NASCAR dads support Obama’s back to school message. Amid all the noise from a frightened and vocal minority of right wing extremists, NASCAR drivers are standing in solidarity with President Obama and his commitment to the education of our nation’s youth.

NASCAR drivers Jeff Gordon, Dale Earnhardt Jr., Carl Edwards, Tony Stewart and Juan Pablo Montoya star in a motivational message for America’s students. The public service announcement is part of President Obama’s back to school message.

President Obama will deliver the nationally televised address to students next Tuesday. Obama will speak about the importance of taking responsibility for their success in school, which the White House calls a continuation of his efforts to use the bully pulpit to promote the value of education.

Obama will make the speech at Arlington’s Wakefield High School, and it will be shown on C-SPAN, on the educational station Channel One and on the White House website.
