Sounds like a Pickle Barrel Climber to me, those things are easy to use, they work best on concrete poles, it keeps them sharp, The power company that has the Laminated pole require that you use Gaffs, but make sure you use a different hole so the other holes can heal
Climb safely brother and Remember don't look at your feet & always look up, gravity only effects you if you are looking down.
