cdawg...I ain't too swoft on jap bikes, I have to stay with the old noisy, shakkin Harley, but normally taking teeth off the back could require you having to buy a shorter chain and it's harder to do...I would just add a tooth to the front and keep the stock chain and it's about the same as taking two to three teeth off the back sprocket...should be way easier to change out the front and I'm almost sure you can use you original chain. Rule of thumb is up on the front and down on the back..my pennys worth..
