Find the local cable company and hire on with them as an installer.  You won't get screwed over as much and you can move up the ranks to service, then line maintance to construction.  Some smaller systems, the installer is the line maintance and construction dude.  Cable is soooo much better than satellite.  For starters, you get paid to work.   What a novel idea.  Pass a QC and don't get charged back.  You don't even get charged back for service calls.  Less driving too.   Stay away from satellites unless you want to pay to work and windup bankrupt.
