Yup, staple guns do increase problems your playing russian roulette everytime you punch a staple into the cable and yes copper braided coax causes major ingress and egress problems especially when your local freq are being transmitted at the same freq as the mso ie: std freq with no off set not to mention the disaster in the sub-band. Done many service calls cuz contractors blasted a staple into the coax, and I started out as a contractor making the same error.
