I agree with Lookin.
Also, it depends on the contract you signed.
I've had employees not return equipment to me. My local PD says it's a civil matter if the employee had permission to take the equipment home (i.e. their truck).
It should be a civil matter. To show your good faith, you should return some of the equipment.
Holding the equipment hostage is no way to get your money, it's just going to cause more problems.
And all the treasure hunt ideas,,, yeah, just like junior high....and everyone wonders why this industry is so messed up....duh.
Keep talking to the company that owes you money. They might be having cash flow issues....the first half of this year has been hard on a lot of companies....
