I do tower work, it is dangerous but if you follow the rules it is not risky. The danger is from the steel before you get it attached to the structure. Almost every accident and death usually involves the climber not following the 100 percent tie off rule. You are always connected to the structure when climbing and when you are on a rope, you are connected to 2 of them.
And with that said I still would not climb a 2000 ft structure. Cell towers move but that tower will have a few FEET of sway up top and with the gin pole attached it will be even worse. Your pucker factor has got to be high for that work.
