I've highlighted the area I was talking about in red. The mod has a similar "elbow" which has to be matched up, this is why the whole housing has to be flipped upside down on a GI MB.
If you don't flip the housing, you will get several issues with it, such as grounding issues and reflection. I've found that out from some dumbass contractor that actually did it and I had to sweep it. I know the contractor and for the life of me, can't figure out why he hasn't been run out of the system. This is the same dumb motherfucker that didn't want to add a UG straight splice during an upgrade because that would've meant he would've had to dig down, so he put the connector underground, then put (4) 3" extension connectors in place to get the tap to sit in the middle of the ped. God I hate this guy - horrible freaking crews he's got working for him.
