You are so full of it, G Girl Go back under your rock, the only time in Florida you get life is to shoot someone during a robbery you know 10,20,life law, or molest a child and the only reason Florida law's are so harsh is to keep you there in their state to generate income via the court system , they don't care if you are in or out, If you are IN locked up the feds pay the state for your care if you are out, you pay for their supervision and if you leave state they can drag your ass back at your expense, and add more time for them to generate money, But if it was a misdemeanor you can get the hell out of dodge. And they lose control of your life.
Florida is the only state in the country that will haul your ass back here over a misdemeanor charge (disorderly conduct, public intox) so your there in Daytona for bike week, you stumble a bit in front of the cops, they write you a public disorder ticket, that is a class 3 misdemeanor (you are arrested, booked, ticketed & released on signature of promise to appear, right there on the spot you stumbled).
So you go about merry way then you go home and blow the ticket off, because I'm not going back there again, well your court date comes and go, Bench Warrant for Failure to appear (misdemeanor charge 1) so then the judge set's a new court date you no show (count 2 Failure to appear misdemeanor charge 2) so the courts find you Guilty by absentia (While or although not present; in absence: was tried and convicted in absentia.) and they fine you $250.00 & Cost, 30 day's jail (suspended) 6 months supervised probation, all in your absent, the court assigns a probation officer to the case, after about 15 days delay for the paper trail to hit your new PO office, he in turns files a VOP (violation of probation) misdemeanor charge count 3 he also apply the administrative fees of $2500.00 for supervised probation and another bench warrant is issued, but then they say Hey Judge the defendant has a out of state address and we are unable to locate the defendant, BANG goes the gavel (Fugitive from Justice) a class 2 Felony and is sent out over the NCIC Network and maybe even Interpol if you have a foreign name, and drag you’re a** back to Florida from anywhere in the world that has a open extradition treaty with the United States all at your own expense all over a un paid $100.00 ticket, once they get you back to Florida might be 2 or 3 months for the Governors Warrant from both States or the foreign country that is holding you, ALL that time setting in jail on a NO BOND HOLD & NO Credit for time served, then when you do get back to Florida, it’s another month before your 1st appearance, of course you can post a bond within 72 hours of arriving back in Florida, but you better have a TON I mean a TON of money like Donald trump type money because your bond will be in the amount of the full cost of the extradition process (about $40k if in continental us about $100k if in Alaska and in excess of $1mil if from a foreign country) OH and that is in the form of CASH or Florida Property, the reason I know this is because I have a close friend that is a US Marshal and she works the extradition division and when down on vacation, she is on call, the Trunk of her car looks like a SWAT team armory cage, you couldn’t open that trunk with a case of c4 and anytime she is out of site of the car a FHP or Local Law has to park near it.
To G Girl How to become a Felon in Florida over $1
