Re: grounding

who gives a rats @ss if the ground works or not, Its required.  THE END.  I see so many people on here saying it shouldn't be grounded, it makes me wonder if these are the same people saying they don't get paid????

I've never seen a direct strike to a dish, if it would happen it would be BBQ.  But no one calls that "ground" a lighting protector.  Its always refered to as a static ground.  If its cable static gets on the cable and needs a way to be discharged.  If its dish, same thing, You got a metal dish that collects static from the weather, so it needs to be discharged safely.  Thus the reason for it being grounded at the meter can.  If you don't ground then that static will go up the line and into your box.  yeah your box is sometimes grounded, but who wants to take the risk.  Plus if the insurance company goes to the house after a lighting strike and see's that the dish or cable is not grounded then they can place blame on the dish or cable company and not pay.

If grounding is to difficult for you then get out of the field.
