Your router should be fine on it's wireless speed right out of the box. There's nothing to tinker with really.
The only thing that is going to slow down your router is if you think your being hacked by the CIA and decide to clamp down hard on your Security Settings. Unless you're living in an apartment or near a hovel full of hackers, anything more than 64-bit WEP is a waste of time.
BLAH BLAH BLAH to all of you that know how to packet sniff and crack 64-bit WEP ... I do too .... but most folks don't live near me or you so they are relatively safe already.
You would not believe the number of service calls I run on where folks have it all clamped down. WPA2-TKIP, MAC-ID lockdown, SSID-OFF, MS-WinXP Firewall, ZoneAlarm & Norton's 360 all at the same time. NO wonder the Fit hit the Shan and nothing works.
Stop surfing the Pron and get a real woman. damn allready.
