1.  The technology exists to run cars on things other than fossil fuels.  It has been greatly suppressed.  Without getting into anything complicated let me just focus on a well known technology.  Steam... which is how virtually all of the electricity in the united states is generated.  If Abner Doble built a steam engine that went 1500 miles on 24 gallons of water over a century ago which featured a direct drive train among other things...  How come with all of the advances we have made in steam turbines there are no steam automobile manufacturers in the U.S.?  Are you going to tell me there is no market for cheaper automobiles with less moving parts that would not require gasoline?

2.  I think some of that land was granted to the Lakota tribe via treaty.  Actually I think its more like 33 treaties that the U.S. has not lived up to the Lakota are grieving about presently.  Gonna be some legal obstacles there.
